“Self Love Beauty has positively impacted my life in so many ways. I have struggled with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and lack of confidence. Being a part of SLB has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and grow in my own self love journey. My confidence has increased, I am willing to share my story and connect with others, I have gained new friendships with amazing and empowering women, and I continue to learn new ways to love myself and find my passion and purpose in life.”
Confidence is a Game Changer in Someone’s Life!
Do you remember a time in your life when you wished you could have had more confidence? Maybe it was to try out for theatre or the baseball team, or maybe it was to ask for a raise at work. Maybe it was something as simple as finding the courage to raise your hand in a classroom, despite your fear of asking a question others might perceive as “stupid.” Everyone has moments throughout their lives where they wish to be more confident in their potential, and we at Self Love Beauty strive to do something to help!
At Self Love Beauty, we define confidence as your faith in your abilities, skills, and talents, while self-love is defined as how you perceive your worth. When an individual has both high confidence and self-love, combined with support, tools, and resources, they have the ability to reach their full potential and exceed at everyday tasks and challenges.
Overcoming Obstacles
Despite the importance of confidence and self-love, there are still many hurdles individuals need to overcome in order to find the resources that help them attain confidence and self-love.
In a time in history when low self-esteem, poor mental health, and suicide are at an all time high, resources that show us how to practice self-love, grow our confidence, and focus on our physical and mental wellbeing are all more important than ever. Studies show that at the age of 5, children establish their self-esteem and in another study, 99% of surveyed individuals believe that confidence is vital in finding a job, securing a position, and growing in your career. Therefore, it shows that beginning at the age of 5 and throughout one’s whole life, confidence and self-worth are IMPORTANT.
This is why we have launched and created The Confidence Campaign this month to raise awareness on the importance of providing confidence-focused tools to all generations, as well as partnering with empowering leaders who share their stories about lacking confidence and finding strength to believe in themselves, who help us to raise funds for our programs.
The Confidence Campaign embodies one of SLB’s most important core values: C-O-N-F-I-D-E-N-C-E !
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we work to improve the confidence of those in the communities we serve, so that they can recognize their self-worth and improve the course of their everyday life.
When we’re confident, we’re more likely to move forward with people and opportunities, instead of backing away from them. And if things don’t work out at first, confidence helps us to try again. It’s the opposite when confidence is low. When someone has confidence, they have faith in their ability to develop their skills and talents without being held back by feelings of insecurity or doubt. Confidence can help someone raise their hand in class, try out for a sport or theater, apply for a job, ask for a raise, and more.
Our programs to help individuals increase confidence within themselves, have a sense of purpose and worth, and be resilient and career-ready members of society, which will impact their growth, families, and friends.
