I have been running Self Love Beauty since 2012 and over time my life has continue change. I have changed as a person and been through many different journeys in life. I am a very big advocate for women empowering women, finding your passion and loving yourself. I find it so important and the focus on helping others and changing my life for the better as really impacted me in so many amazing ways. Recently I met Molly, our women empowerment interview of the week. She happens to be one amazing woman who is also a confident coach. Now you are probably think why would the founder of Self love Beauty need a confidence coach well I do. I lack emotions. Not emotions of telling others I love them but emotions of if someone upsets me, standing up for myself and making sure my needs are met. I sometimes do not want to feel vulnerable, which is something I am working on.
Molly has been tremendous at helping me push through to succeed. She has been an outside lens to my life and that is exactly what I needed. Molly is not only a lifecoach, but in so down to earth, bubbling and now a friend.
Check out my awesome interview with Molly below including some pictures from her trip to Iceland (yes, I was totally jealous to) and check out the amazing deal she is giving to all Self Love Beauty viewers (at the bottom, and its amazing).
Molly, can you tell me a little more about when and why you decided to become a confidence coach?
I started this journey about a year and a half ago. I was working in a crazy busy start up, and was living a completely out of balance life. I often worked 12 hour days, was on the road a lot so I ate a lot of fast food, was too tired after work to do anything but go to bed, and in all honesty, my physical, emotional, and mental health were really suffering. That’s how I found coaching, I knew I had to make a big change, and I knew i wanted my next step to make me happy. So I got my certification, traveled to Bali to get my Reiki certification, and here I am today. I quit my job, created my own business, and now help people learn to love themselves. It’s been an incredible journey, and i’m so grateful to have found it so young.
What does a confidence coach do for others?
I help people become very aware of their own thoughts, habits, and patterns. People with low self-esteem look for love and validation outside of themselves, and I help them to see that they can give that love and validation to themselves. I help them identify where they are self-sabotaging, and help them change those behaviors to positive and loving.
What advice do you have for someone struggling in their career or self-love?
We are all humans, we all have strengths and weaknesses, great days and shitty days, and we all get stuck or lost sometimes. I tell everyone who will listen, don’t let the doubts, the fears, the roadblocks, or the bad days stop you. Consciously choose to feel sad or down for a day or two, but then get up, form a plan, get support, and keep moving forward. It is never too early and never too late to be happy and confident, and you are in complete control.
What is your favorite go to healthy snack?
HUMMUS. I love hummus so much. It’s so easy to make and customize, so healthy, and so delicious.
What does self love mean to you?
Self love means acknowledging both your strengths and weaknesses without judgement. It means to accept that you aren’t going to be great at everything, but that doesn’t take away from your value. It means having a voice and setting boundaries, and it means doing what is best for you, even if those closest to you don’t agree or understand. It means finding that inner wisdom and following it, no matter how crazy or distant your goals might seem.
With society giving more attention to women, what advice would you give someone right now?
I want every woman out there to stop apologizing. Stop apologizing for being independent, for being strong and determined, and for speaking up when someone uses sexist language. Find yourself a partner who won’t try to silence you, find someone who will celebrate your independence, support your passions and goals, and be proud to be with someone who is so self-assured. Also, It is everyone’s responsibility to speak up when they hear sexist or rape culture language, so if you hear it SPEAK UP. Be calm, be reasonable in your arguments, and don’t take it to heart if someone can’t handle your honesty.
Molly’s Mission
My mission in life is to help people realize they can jump off that hamster wheel, they can control their own life path, and they can have everything they want. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, I’m not saying there aren’t going to be days you wish you had stuck to the typical path, but you are capable of so much more than you realize. Sometimes, you just have to take the leap and work your hardest to make it work, and figure it out on the way. And it will be beautiful.
